Schema.org markup, especially FAQ schema, HowTo schema, and Organization schema, signals to crawlers what your content is about, increasing citation probability.

3. Third-party validation

Content from industry publications, analyst reports, and news sites that mention your brand increases model confidence in your brand's existence and relevance.

4. Fresh content signals

Perplexity prioritizes recency. Content published in the last 90 days gets a citation boost. Consistent publishing frequency matters.

The Citation Content Playbook

Step 1: The Definitive Guide

Pick your single most important category term (e.g., "AI-powered workforce development"). Write the most comprehensive guide on the internet for that topic. Aim for 4,000+ words with original research, data, and examples.

Step 2: The Comparison Page

Create "[Your Brand] vs [Competitor]" pages for your top 5 competitors. These capture high-intent queries and are frequently cited in comparative AI answers.

Step 3: The Data Asset

Step 4: The FAQ Layer
